Whether you transport a wheelchair passenger frequently or only occasionally, B-Style has the solution for every wheelchair taxi, in the form of a conversion kit. These kits are purchased by our partners, vehicle conversion companies, worldwide to build a wheelchair taxi.

Types of wheelchair taxi

Whatever your favourite car may be, we have a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) conversion kit to make practically any brand into a wheelchair taxi. You can configure your vehicle to accommodate your capacity needs and preferences.

One wheelchair passenger = B-Active

If you do not carry more than one wheelchair passenger at a time, the B-Active conversion kit for wheelchair vans is the best choice for you. This is a wheelchair van that is accessible to the wheelchair passenger via a ramp at the back. When there is no wheelchair passenger present, this ramp can optionally be folded inwards to create a flat, accessible baggage area.

Tip-and-turn seats

Depending on the size of the vehicle, tip-and-turn seats can be placed in the third row, increasing the maximum number of passengers to seven or five able-bodied and one wheelchair passenger. The only wheelchair taxi that can carry even more passengers is the extended Mercedes-Benz Vito/V-Class.

Volkswagen Caddy Wheelchair taxi

An example of one of our wheelchair taxis is the Volksagen Caddy Maxi 5. This conversion kit is easy to install, the tank does not have to be replaced and that saves costs. The taxi Pop-up ramp can be placed completely in the Caddy and lies flat. This makes it easy to put luggage in the taxi when the wheelchair space is not in use. Go to the Volkswagen Caddy Maxi 5 page for more information about this conversion kit.

Multiple wheelchair passengers

With the B-FiT floor system you can quickly convert a vehicle into a fully-fledged wheelchair bus. The plug-and-play floor is simply mounted in a minibus, the electricity and touchscreen are connected and that's it. There are multiple wheelchair spaces in the floor; usually four, but in some cases six can be created.

Up to eight tip-and-turn seats are placed on the floor, which can be used when the wheelchair spaces are not in use. This creates a very flexible wheelchair taxi. Optionally, you can install your choice of passenger lift, and we can deliver a low entry kit – the B-Open – for the front.

Quality and innovation

B-Style, inventor of the wheelchair van, has been building wheelchair vehicles since 1973. Over the years the conversion kits have been further developed and improved, making a B-Style wheelchair van one of the best on the market. You can see this in the easy, intuitive operation, beautiful sleek finish and – thanks to endurance tests – the long-lasting durability of all the components. This quality is widely recognised: we are a Mercedes-Benz VanPartner and Premium Partner of Volkswagen, and we have Quality Certificate Level 3 from Stellantis .

Ease of use

There are many features designed for maximum user-friendliness, like the belts that can be attached to the wheelchair while it is still outside the wheelchair van. An integrated safety feature prevents the wheelchair passenger from rolling backwards on the wheelchair ramp; only upward movement is possible. Super convenient! When driving without a wheelchair passenger, the wheelchair ramp can optionally be folded inwards for more luggage space. Operation of the wheelchair ramp can be made easier with an optional gas spring. A LED panel provides additional lighting in the lowered floor as soon as the wheelchair van is opened.

Safe wheelchair van

Of course, you want maximum protection for your family members during a drive. All the adaptations are tested and checked by an independent authority, such as the RDW or the TÜV. This way we and you can be sure that everything is safe. The wheelchair can be secured to the floor with the supplied belts, and the safety belts for the wheelchair passenger are similar to those of the other passengers.

Want to buy a wheelchair van?

B-Style does not build wheelchair vans itself; we supply the conversion kit that makes this possible. Our conversion partners will build the wheelchair van for you. We have a large network of conversion partners worldwide, and we are always happy to put you in touch with them. If you are a conversion company yourself and want more information about our conversion kits, please contact us via the orange button at the top right.
